Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurological condition that interferes with the normal development of social interaction abilities, verbal and nonverbal communication skills, and abstract reasoning. Information related to understanding, socializing, and communicating with people is very difficult for the brain to interpret and organize, while information of a more factual nature is often very easy to interpret and organize. Individuals with ASD often have irregular sensory systems and find themselves easily over aroused, as well as understimulated, and unable to readily self-regulate.
