The BBTIPC Proficiency Scale

The BBTIPC Proficiency Scale is used to measure staff competency within and across all fourteen elements and complementary areas. Effective intervention teams will have people with a broad range of expertise across several of these areas. The proficiency scale is used to show who has expertise in specific areas, where proficiency within the team could use more growth, and it can also be used to measure changes in proficiency within and across teams following proficiency development efforts. The Green Zone is a teaching tool, a means of instruction, of clarifying standards by providing timely visual and continuous feedback on performance. The goal of the Green Zone is to teach/clarify and to reward the student for improving performance or sustaining good performance levels.

Good Fit Program

In all cases of the good fit program, you are using the student’s motivation to work harder to make things a good fit, and to accept responsibility when the activity or situation is no longer a choice (rather than the student placing blame externally). Also, “good fit” enables students to experience another chance at reward activities, but it is another chance with growth potential, a chance to do it differently, a chance to learn a new way to be successful with the activity or situation.

Student Profile Form: A Rating of Student Social, Emotional & Behavioral Functioning

Repeated administration of the Student Profile over the course of the school year can show the level of progress the student has made in the program. Just mark each line with a date. The staff might notice that improvement has occurred in one area but not in some other important areas. This should lead to a specific plan of improvement and a reassessment.

Student Profile Scoring: An Introduction

The Student Profile Rating Form can be hand scored or computer scored. Computer scoring is done by School Clinical & Consulting Services. It is very straight forward. Fill out the computer scoring sheet by putting a number (your rating from the rating form) next to the item number on the form. If you rated the student as a 2 for item number 40, for example, you would place a 2 next to the number 40 on the computer scoring sheet.
