Monitoring Performance
There are many good reasons for providing parents with information about student performance at the end of the school day. However, the communication between school and home should provide parents with a view of the entire day, not just selected memories, and it should include an objective measure of student performance. The information should not be anecdotal. It should be based on a rating scale that can be used to make comparisons throughout the day (across subjects and time) and from one day to the next.
